English clubs Arsenal and Liverpool want to transfer Aleksey Batrakov, who plays for Turkish club Galatasaray.
elchi reports, citing the TEAMtalk publication, that scouts from both clubs watched the UEFA tournament match between Lille and Galatasaray this week.
The 21-year-old Russian midfielder also scored in the match, which the Istanbul representative won 4:2. It is reported that Manchester United, Chelsea, and Manchester City have also been watching the player since the summer.
Batrakov transferred to Galatasaray from Moscow Lokomotiv for 25 million euros during the summer transfer window. Sanctions that prevent English clubs from conducting direct transfer negotiations with Russian representatives do not create obstacles for interested parties after his transfer to a Turkish club.
The Russian footballer has attracted attention with his successful performance in his new team. He has scored two goals and provided two assists in his first six starts.
Although Galatasaray wants to keep the player in the team, a special clause in his contract further increases the interest of English clubs. Specifically, Batrakov’s contract includes a release clause of approximately 50 million pounds sterling for clubs in England, Spain, Italy, and Germany.
Payment of this amount could allow Galatasaray to generate approximately double the income from the sale of the player.
